Harvest is here! That would be true if the grapes were flowing through the wineries, but due to this year's cooler than average summer, harvest is a few weeks behind schedule. No worries wine enthusiasts. The Santa Barbara County Vintners' Association, Celebration of Harvest Festival is being held on Saturday, October 9, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Rancho Sisquoc Winery in the Santa Maria Valley. Aside from the Festival, local wineries will open their doors for all you to enjoy their wines throughout the Harvest Festival weekend from October 8-11. Check out your favorite wineries online for special events and hours.
All of your favorite Santa Barbara County wineries will be pouring new releases at the Festival to showcase the regions diverse varietals and blends, including Rhone-style wines, Bordeaux blends and Pinot Noir. Besides some of the best wine in California, you'll be treated to some of the finest cuisine in the Central Coast from dozens of local restaurants and caterers, including Full of Life Flatbread, Ballard Inn, Hitching Post, Los Olivos Cafe, Trattoria Grapolo and Petros.
